Let's go to the beach!

An outdoor wedding venue desktop website that offers photo sharing - Beachside
This study became more of a challenge as I progressed. With no knowledge of weddings, let alone wedding venues, I decided to choose this project to work on. One thing I do know is how to share photos on almost any platform!
So I started. With the main issue being how to include a sharing option for Beachside, I needed to determine how users could easily access and share their special day, without their information being completely public.
My role as Lead UX Designer involved both wireframing and prototyping.
Target users here include people aged 21+, and any user planning a wedding.
I began wireframing on paper. Five designs came about, with a sixth one incorporating certain aspects from the others, which became the chosen home page.
Low-Fidelity
For a user that has already gotten married at this venue, going back to the venue's site to retrieve the photos and share them should be fairly simple.
For a user that is debating whether to use this venue for their wedding, it should be obvious Beachside offers a way to share your special day.
High-Fidelity
I mainly struggled with the user journey, specifically what steps will the user need to take in order to retrieve their photos. In this case, a wedding lookup log was created where the user must input their e-mail address and wedding date to view their photos so as to keep their photo content private. This way, the user doesn't need a Beachside account, however that could be an option in the future. There are multiple ways for a wedding venue site to configure how their users can access their wedding photography; this case is one way.
Takeaways
I didn’t know much about wedding venues to begin with, but figuring out what clients need and want for their wedding, especially how to capture and keep those special memories through photos, it is important to know how to share those moments with loved ones!
By being able to share your own wedding photos however you’d like by going through the wedding venue itself, makes it easier than trying to figure it out on your own.
Next Steps...
Conduct a usability study with the high-fidelity prototype
Based off of results, make improvements
Conduct a second usability study
Work with the team - create an improved wedding log (create an account, or different wedding lookup)
Conduct a third usability study
Re-evaluate where we're at in the process and improve prototype
